    Are you interested in getting involved in research that partners with educators to support students' motivation, engagement, and learning in classrooms? Come learn about our VCU Educational Psychology program! 

    The program is designed to prepare graduates to teach at the university level, pursue future careers in higher education, as well as to take leadership positions in regional and state educational institutions and agencies. Faculty accepting applications and their specific research interests are:

    Dr. Christine Bae: engagement, motivation, science teaching and learning, STEM, middle school classrooms, discourse, historical underserved students Director of Discourse and Learning Lab
    Dr. John Fife: STEM identity, resilience among underserved youth, psychosocial implications of inequities in education, construction and evaluation of STEM ecosystems
    Dr. Jennifer LoCasale-Crouch: supports and systems that influence children during early childhood, contextually sensitive and responsive interventions, under-represented children, families and communities Director of Caring Adult Relationships Everywhere (CARE) Lab, Research Fellow in the VCU Child Development Center
    Dr. Kathleen Rudasill: Individual differences in children’s behavior and temperament, adjustment to school, teacher-child relationships, social-emotional development
    Dr. Sharon Zumbrunn: contexts that foster academic motivation, self-regulation, and success Director of Motivation in Context Lab
